Deidre Campbell
Deidre Campbell (Nikki) is a research coordinator at the University of Miami-Humana Health Services Research Center (HSRC). She joined the HSRC in March of 2007 and began as the office coordinator before being promoted to research coordinator. Nikki’s current projects include a closer look at post operative cognitive deterioration and its effects on those over 40 who underwent surgery. Other projects include assisting with the development of an algorithm for lung cancer screening, and directing a program to enhance research among residents at the University of Miami.
Prior to her role at the HSRC, Nikki was a news writer at a local television station in Miami but always knew she wanted to get into medicine. She was attracted to a role at the HSRC, in part, because she saw an opportunity to maximize her growth potential. Nikki believes her role at the HSRC constantly challenges her to improve her skills to better fit the needs and wants of the company. She enjoys the friendly atmosphere and teamwork approach that takes place within the HSRC.
She is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University and finished at the top of her class in Chemistry. Nikki is currently pursuing her Masters in Science in Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University.
